A webinar recording is available for the Store module, where we briefly introduced this module and showed the options for setting it up and how to work with it:
If you did not find the answer to your question in the video, take a look at the answers to other frequently asked questions below.
Can products be seen on the website as well, or only in the EOS platform?
For members the store is available within the web version and the mobile app. If you need to sell to the public in the store as well, you just enable it in the store settings. The store will then be available at a public URL. You can even adjust which product categories or products are available to the public. You can also select the payment or delivery methods available to the public.
Store settings
This section is used for the global settings of how the store behaves across the whole organization – from store availability, languages and currencies, through notifications and stock, to texts, tags and terms and conditions.
We have an external supplier who has their own e-shop, will there be an option to click through, for example via a banner?
We thought of this, which is why we added the external product type. In that case you can create and set up the product normally, add an image and a price and then you just set the external URL of the product from the external supplier’s store. Members can therefore browse your products directly in the app. You get an interesting tool for presenting such products to members.
If we do not have extended permissions, can goods be divided by organizational units – for example as categories? And likewise divide notifications to the given members of individual sections who are in charge of these matters?
Unfortunately this is complicated, because it is not possible to guarantee that products from different categories will not be combined so that a notification could be targeted unambiguously. Extended permissions solve this very effectively.
Can I set a different price for a product depending on the size (for boxing gloves, for example, it differs by size)?
Yes, in the product settings you can set special prices for individual product variants, and also for members or the public. As the base price you can enter, for example, the lowest one and use special prices for larger sizes to add the difference compared to the base price.
Catalogue (product categories and products)
In the Catalogue you will find the option to manage Product categories and individual products. Product categories and products serve for managing the complete offer of goods in your store. They allow you to create and manage products, sort them into categories and subcategories and set prices, availability, variants and other properties. Product categories serve as the catalogue structure, while the products themselves contain all the commercial data.
We have several locations (training venues) – will it be possible for the customer to select directly at which place/training session they will collect the goods?
The number of delivery methods is not limited, so you can set up personal collection for each of the places where you operate.
Is or will it be possible to send via Zásilkovna?
We will soon add an integration for selecting a specific Zásilkovna delivery point among the delivery methods.
Delivery methods
You determine the delivery methods entirely according to your options. Thanks to these settings you give customers a choice of how you will get the ordered goods to them. For each method you also set who it is intended for and what its price is.
Will I see in the member zone that a given member has a paid/unpaid order?
The payment method includes a setting for whether it should generate a payment into the EOS member platform. Then it works the way you are used to. Both members and you see an overview of all such payments. The payment status is also written directly to the order.
Is it possible to connect card payment to the Store? And is it also possible to sell in the Store under a different company ID than the one we use for payments such as contributions?
Card payment from GoPay is possible if it is active within the platform. At the same time it is possible to sell under a different company ID. The configured payment method just has to be linked to a bank account with alternative billing details.
After paying, does the customer receive a payment confirmation or an invoice?
As standard with payments, here too it is possible to download a confirmation of payment for a paid payment. Issuing an invoice (a tax document) is not possible at the moment, but adding this functionality is planned in the near future.
Can a specific symbol, for example, be entered for individual items so that payments can then be sorted, for example by which section they belong to?
The paid Extended permissions module will help with this; it enables such division and de facto a separate store including the related settings for each section.
Are payments from the Store module visible anywhere in total – for example as a payment group? So that it would be possible to display somewhere the total amount generated in orders, how much is paid and how much is not yet?
We are preparing a general filter for all payments for orders in the store. And this is also addressed by the Payment types feature, where you will be able to create a special type (or several types) with its own number sequence for orders in the store.
If the customer chooses payment by bank transfer but does not send it. Will the system send a reminder about non-payment?
If the payment for the order is generated into the platform, then when the payment goes past its due date, the customer (member/parent) receives reminders just as with classic payments. It is the same functionality and the advantages arising from integrating the store directly into the platform.
Can an order be paid from a member account?
Yes. Even now it is possible to pay for orders from a member account (kept in CZK) like any other payments. But we are preparing a feature so that payments can be paid indirectly from a member account and, in addition, you will be able to offer products for an internal currency as well. For example selected products for children, if they collect club points for helping out, they will be able to choose one of the club souvenirs and so on.
Payment methods
You determine the payment methods entirely according to your options. Thanks to these settings you give customers a choice of how they will pay for the ordered goods. For each method you also set who it is intended for, what its price is and which delivery method can be used with the given payment method.
Can I stock and sell down to zero only what is in stock?
Yes, the store allows you to sell products with stock records. You stock such products with a goods receipt. It is up to you whether you allow selling only down to zero or also into the negative. The setting within each product serves this purpose. The default setting is that selling into the negative is turned off.
Warehouse
Stock allows you to keep records of and check all movements of items within the store – receipts, issues and their complete history. It serves as a central overview of how and why the numbers of available or unavailable products change.
Can an order be edited by the administrator? For example a parent chose the wrong size and I need to change it to the correct one in the system.
Yes, in orders practically everything can be edited – the products themselves, the delivery or payment method.
How does it work in the case of an order for a product we do not have in stock? Example – if we have 8 orders for scarves that we do not have in stock and then stock 5 scarves, will the orders be fulfilled “first come first served”?
This scenario is not handled automatically by the system and it is therefore up to you how you approach it. The module does offer a chronological overview of ordered products across orders.
Working with orders
The All ordered products tab is used to manage all orders created within the store. Besides an overview, items can be edited and statuses, delivery and payments changed. It provides an overview of customers, ordered products and change history.
Is it possible to take a non-binding look at the Store module in a demo version?
For those interested in the Store module we can offer a one-week demo version, which we will turn on directly in your platform. You can order it at [email protected], or by ordering via community.eos.cz.
Is it possible to convert the original e-shop from the website to this new one?
Unfortunately, neither the products nor the settings from the existing web store can be converted, because the new store brings so many new options in the settings of categories, products and the store itself that it is not compatible. In addition, the demands of such a programmatic solution significantly exceed the manual transfer of products from the old store to the new one.
Is the Store module fully functional already? How long does implementation take if I order it?
Yes. If you order it, you can have it active in your platform for configuration within a few minutes. Then it is up to you how quickly you manage to set it up and fill it with products.
