Using common events (without attendance tracking) you can create a schedule of matches/races and so on in EOS for the whole season in advance. Members can then indicate whether they are interested in the event (date). Once the event date approaches, the time comes to nominate specific members. So that it does not have to be created as a new, separate event, the original common event can be converted into a nomination.
Non-attendance common events can be converted to all other kinds of events – nominations, e-applications, organizing.

The workflow for creating events that take place further in the future (typically matches during the season) can be:
creating a common event (without attendance tracking), which is shown in the calendar of selected teams
members express interest in the event
converting the general event, for which you already know who is interested, into a nomination (or another kind of event)
during the conversion you have the option to include the members who expressed interest directly in the nomination or as participants of the e-application/organizing
you can have the converted event activated, or leave it inactive, finish setting it up and activate it at the right moment
Coaches themselves (or anyone with write access to Events in Management) can manage nominations this way on their own. A common event created in the calendar half a year in advance can be converted a week before the match into an inactive nomination. They then nominate any members and activate the nomination whenever they want. The nominated members receive a notification, based on which they can start confirming or declining their nomination.
A general event can be converted into an e-application or organizing in a similar way.
Another alternative for working with events efficiently, which can come in handy at any time, is creating a copy of an event. You have this option both from Management and again directly from the event in the Member zone.
The copy function cleverly pre-fills the form for creating a new event, and on top of that you can change the kind of the newly copied event. So if a match is coming up and you need to create an event through which you find helpers to assist with organizing it, you can simply copy the common event or the nomination for the match. You select the event kind Organizing and the event information is pre-filled for you.
